Updates from Tiffany Hills Friday January 11, 2019.

Happy New Year to all of our Tiffany Hills students and families!  I hope that everyone enjoyed the two weeks away from school, hopefully finding time to rest and connect with family and friends.

Here are a few updates and reminders from our school:

The Community Church is holding a Neighbourhood Association meeting on Monday night January 14th, at 6:30 PM, at 211 Stonehenge Dr.  All are welcome to attend.

Winter Weather:  Please remind and assist your child to dress appropriately for the winter weather.  If temperatures are above -15 degrees and/or -20 degrees with wind chill and the playground is suitable for safe play, students will be going outside each day for both nutrition breaks.  Please have your child remember to bring a hat, mittens, winter coat, scarf and boots each day so that they can enjoy the fresh air outside.

Parking and Student Pick-up/Drop-off:  Please remember when you are picking up or dropping off your children, to park in marked parking spaces only, or on the street.  Parents are reminded not to leave their cars parked in the spaces marked for ‘Kiss & Ride’ and in bus lanes and fire zones.  Please help us keep traffic moving and safe for all students and families.

Pancake Day:  We are looking forward to our school Pancake Day on February 26th.  Mrs. Russell, to whom we are so grateful for organizing this event,  is looking for volunteers to help from 8:45 until about 1:00 pm that day.  Also, if you have an electric griddle that we could borrow for this day, that would also be most appreciated.  Please call the office to let us know if you can assist in any way.

Lates:  Students are being reminded that our entry bell rings at 9:00 AM and that lessons begin shortly after that.  Please try to have your children to school before the 9:00 bell so that they may enter with their peers and be ready to learn when instruction begins.  We have many students arriving at the office after the bell.  This causes a disruption to your child’s learning, and that of others in the classroom.  Thank you for your efforts to get your child to school before the 9:00 bell.

Upcoming Student Council Initiatives:  Next Friday January 18th is “Crazy Hair Day” at Tiffany Hills.  Other upcoming spirit events organized by our Student Council are:  Candy Grams and Middle School dance for Valentines’ Day and a Games Day.

School Council Initiatives:  Our School Council parents have been busy planning their Spring initiatives.  Look forward to Krispy Kreme donut sales (February); Boston Pizza Spirit Night (March 4); Movie Night (April 18)

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
