Spirit, Spirit and more Spirit at Tiffany Hills

It has been a most exciting week at Tiffany Hills with so many celebrations and spirit activities happening in all grades.

The week kicked off with our young leaders from Ms. Durnin’s class announcing that the Ancaster Food Drive had begun.  Students are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to our front foyer and Ms. Durnin’s class will ensure they are donated to wonderful organizations throughout our community. Thank you to those who have already brought in so much and thank you to our Grade 1 students as well, for leading us in this initiative.

Wednesday was full of love and kindness as we celebrated Valentine’s Day with games, class parties and a school dance.  I’m quite certain that there was very little healthy eating happening in our school on that day!  Thank you to Student Council leaders for organizing this wonderful spirit day.

On Friday afternoon a representative from Green Peace ran a workshop for our Junior and Intermediate students discussing Climate Change and biodiversity.  Tiffany Hills is already showing lots of its green with our recycling programs.  Let’s keep protecting our beautiful planet!

Red & White Day is taking us into the long Family Day weekend.  Today students dawned their Canadian colours to show support for our athletes competing in the PyeongChang Winter Olympics!  Go Team Canada!

But we’re not done yet….

Friday February 23rd is a Games Day for students.  For two periods that day, students will engage in cooperative electronic and/or board games.  A nice break from the regular work day to practise sportsmanship, social and cooperative skills.  Thank you to our Student Council leaders for organizing this free option for our students.

And last but not least, Pancake Day will be Tuesday February 27.  Students may bring $3.00 to enjoy a plate of pancakes.  All proceeds will go to support Science initiatives in our school.  Parent Volunteers are welcome to help.  Please call the office.

Two important upcoming dates are:  Friday March 2 (PA Day) and March 12-16 (March Break).

Happy Chinese New Year to all who celebrate and best wishes for a fabulous and prosperous year of the Dog!  Have a wonderful long weekend to all as well.  Enjoy the Family Day holiday Monday!
