Updates from Tiffany Hills September 29, 2017

It has been an exciting and busy week at Tiffany Hills.  We welcomed our newest staff member, Mrs. Bonnie Martin, who will be taking over as the teacher of the Kindergarten B Class.  Welcome Mrs. Martin!  On Thursday, all students walked or ran a route on our back field to honour Terry Fox and raise money for Cancer research.  Thank you to Class 5/6 for organizing this important fund raiser and to all of our families who donated toonies for this worthy cause.  In just one day, we raised a total of $567.30!!  Amazing! Today, many students and staff dawned their orange for Orange Shirt Day – a day on which we remember and honour the lives lost and survivors of Canada’s Indian Residential Schools.  Lead by Ms. Sewell’s inspiring leaders in Class 1 / 2, we learned about the Wampum Belt received by our school and promoted the slogan #everychildmatters to help raise awareness of our past errors and move forward in peace and in support of every child in our country.

Next week gets even busier!  Here are few upcoming events to enter onto your calendars:

Wednesday October 4:  Yellow Shirt Day – walk/ride to school in an environmentally friendly way

Wednesday October 4:  School Council Meeting Room 109 6:30 PM

Thursday October 5:  Meet the Teacher BBQ 4:30-6:30

Friday October 6:  Pizza Order forms due to office

Monday October 9:  Thanksgiving Holiday – Schools closed

Wednesday October 11:  Pizza Day begins second break
