Kyle Giedraitis - Male Athlete

School: Parkdale
Sport: Basketball

Kyle Giedraitis Kyle exemplifies both the big A’s at Parkside: Athletics and Academics. He attended Parkside part-time as a grade 8 student scoring 90s in all three of his grade 9 advanced courses. He embodies our Parkside motto "Committed to Excellence" on and off the playing field. Kyle's highly intellectual approach to school courses is mirrored in his athletic endeavors. Kyle has been one of the key components (point guard) of the highly successful Senior Boys Basketball program. The current 50 games plus consecutive winning streak in regular-season play is directly related to his court intelligence and desire to excel. He has received numerous All-Star selections including the Silver Fox two years in a row. In addition to court expertise, Kyle was the recipient of the prestigious 2010 Silver Fox the top academic award. A $1000 grant from the Teachers Life Society.

Although receiving highly deserved praise for his contribution in basketball, Kyle has shone on other athletic teams for the school. He played soccer (to OFSSA level) and volleyball with the latter adding an MVP trophy and one City Championship. Kyle’s quiet humble demeanor serves as a role model to be emulated by new Parkside athletes.

While athletics consumes a large portion of his free time, Kyle continues to give back to the school as a Panther sports clinic leader and DECA participant (regional finalist). All while maintaining a 90’s plus average. Mr. Coull, Head of Boys’ Physical Education at Parkside states “Kyle IS what we state on our athletic T-shirts. Perfection is our goal, excellence will be tolerated.”
Coaches and teachers agree that Parkside's loss at the end of this year will be some lucky universities gain!
