Lead Test

Dear Parents, Guardians and Caregivers

Recently, our school underwent annual water testing for lead, in accordance with the provincial regulations (O.Reg 243/07).

As a result of this testing, concerns were identified with one of our drinking water fountains and food prep sinks.

The drinking water fountain exceeded on the flushed and standing sample and as a result has been temporarily removed from service until corrective action can take place.  The food prep sink exceeded on the standing sample but passed upon flushing of the fixture. As a result, we will be flushing all drinking water fixtures at the school each day.

In addition to informing the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, our Health & Safety representatives have consulted with Public Health to ensure appropriate corrective actions have been taken for the safety of your child. This includes any requirements prescribed in the regulation as well as any additional actions required by Public Health.

For more information and if you have any questions, please visit Drinking Water Testing for Lead.
