The Eagles Have Landed in JSK Room 113
The Kindergarten students in Mrs. Koegler’s and Mrs. Grundy’s class have been observing two eagles and their eggs in Washington DC, through a live web cam. Initially the children were asked to just quietly look for a few minutes and then share what they saw with the class. They noticed so many things! Next they were asked to share their thinking based on what they saw using the words. “I think….because…..Then they were asked what they were wondering about the eagles and nest. This routine was done to make the childrens’ thinking visible.
Every day they watch the eagles and discuss what they see, think and wonder. They are very excited about the arrival of the eaglets! They have calculated using a calendar that they will likely hatch this week.
Look at their wonderings and their artwork inspired by what they’ve seen and learned!
