Greetings from our School Council Chair

Welcome to the start of another great school year at Sir Wilfrid Laurier Elementary School! The SWL School Council is looking forward to again providing enriching and enjoyable programs and activities for the students and families of SWL. We will be supporting items and requests that effect the entire student body as well as help with costs of field trips. We also put on events at our school for your families enjoyment such as our Movie Nights, Haunted House and Spring Fun Fest.

Last year we supported School Laptops – $3000.00,

School trips – $2300.00, School functions/items – $1500.00 and $1500.00 towards new books for the school. In order to make all these things happen, we need your support and assistance, especially via volunteering.

Volunteering and becoming involved at your child’s school won’t just benefit your child, their schoolmates and the community; it will also benefit you! There is abundant research indicating that those who volunteer are both physically healthier and psychologically happier. Some studies have even found greater longevity amongst those that volunteer. So do yourself a favor and get involved this year.

Our next council meeting is on November 21st 2017 @ 615pm in the staff room at the school.
