MISSION
The mission of Sherwood Secondary school is to provide every student with opportunities to fully develop his/her talents and abilities in a safe school environment. Our school community fosters a generation of students with the knowledge, critical thinking and social skills necessary to embrace a diverse and dynamic society.

VISION STATEMENT – STUDENTS
Sherwood students are self-motivated, active participants in their own social, emotional, physical and academic growth. They strive to be independent, life-long learners and skilled communicators. Sherwood students develop transferable skills that lead to future pathways and help them define their full potential as citizens.

VISION STATEMENT – TEACHERS
Sherwood teachers are understanding and resourceful. They communicate well, respect student diversity and believe in each
student’s potential to learn. Teachers are life-long learners and model this practice. They promote and encourage connections to the workforce, the use of technology and involvement in the school community.

VISION STATEMENT – ADMINISTRATORS
Sherwood administrators are creative problem-solvers who recognize strengths and encourage leadership and team building. As leaders they empower staff, students, parents and community members to actively enrich school life. The school administrators promote growth and celebrate success in the school and work pro-actively to create a positive teaching and learning environment.

TO OUR PARENTS
As a place of learning, we at Sherwood insist on proper conduct in all areas of life.
We invite parents to be active in the Sherwood School Council, an organization devoted to improving the education of children. The Council meets the 1st Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the school library.
