Volunteer Opportunity with the Hamilton Cycling Club for Friday, April 14th, 2017 (Good Friday)
The Hamilton Cycling Club is looking for student volunteers to act as course marshals for our Good Friday Road Race on April 14th, 2017. The event is a provincially sanctioned amateur bicycle race.
Duties include directing cyclists along the race course and ensuring that participants do not go off course. All traffic will be under the control of Hamilton Police Services. The race will be held at the Ancaster Fairgrounds, 630 Trinity Road South.
Hours of service are from 8AM to 6PM (10 hours) and the Club will supply volunteers with a safety vest as well as a signaling flag. Food and drink vouchers will be provided for a full lunch from one of the food trucks on site. Bring water and come prepared to spend the day outdoors (bring sun screen and/or a winter coat depending on the forecast).
This is a great volunteer opportunity for students with an interest in supporting amateur sports in Ontario. Please contact Marc Risdale, the Race Director, at marcrisdale (at) gmail.com for more information.
