Ryerson Middle School issues a Provincial Progress Report to each student in early November, and a Provincial Report Card in January and June. Reports are one part of the comprehensive reporting process. The Provincial Reports for Grades 1 to 8 provides straightforward information to parents about their children’s achievement and progress in school, plans for future learning and what parents can do to support their child’s learning at home. Grade 6 students receive letter grades. Grades 7 and 8 students receive percentages and show grade averages. For the January and June Reports, a separate section of the report card is used to rate the effectiveness of the learning skills. On the last page of the report card parent/student can make comments, which is signed and returned to the core teacher.
