This year, Rousseau school is happy to announce we will be participating in the HWDSB Swim Meet on November 28th at 1:00pm at McMaster University Pool. We will be having our first swim practice this Friday from 3:00-4:00 pm at the Ancaster Aquatic Centre for those students interested in being part of our Rousseau team.
Practices will be held every Friday at this time, with dismissal from school at 2:37pm on the following dates:
Students should come to school Friday prepared with their swimsuit, towel and goggles. A swim cap will be provided at the meet, but if students would like to wear one at practice they should feel free to do so. Our school is pleased to have the coaching experience of Dr. Greg Steinberg and we look forward to a successful and fun season.
If your child is interested, forms went home to be returned by Friday, October 14th to Mrs. Laws. A prerequisite to participate should be the ability to swim a full length of the pool. Although we will be working on skills specific to strokes and endurance, there will be no learn to swim skills being taught for this extra-curricular activity. I am looking for parent volunteers to drive this Friday especially with our tight timelines. Please email or contact me if you have a police check on file in the office and are willing to drive students to and from school to practices.
For further information, please contact me through email. I look forward to working with all of our Rousseau swimmers for the next five weeks and seeing what we can achieve as a team.
