Ridgemount Families,

We welcome everyone back from the March Break and hope that all of you had an enjoyable week off with family and friends. We look forward to seeing everyone at 8:45am tomorrow morning! Congratulations to all of our Learning Skills and Ridgemount Recognition Award recipients. The list of students that recveived certifcates for demonstrating achievement and improvements in Independent Work (staying on task,  avoiding distractions, working quietly and efficiently) will be dislayed in the front foyer in our display cabinet. Well done Ridgemount Roadrunners – keep up the great work and keep putting great efforts into improving your learning skills and work habits!!  We will be focusing on Collaboration for the next few weeks.

Due to the extreme wet and mud on the playground we will be having Black Top Recesses for the next few days. Stay tuned for updates as we will return to the full school ground recess once the playground is dry and safe. A special thanks to our caretaking staff for their work over the break deep cleaning and keeping our school squeaky clean and safe for all of us! Please be sure to extend your appreciation to Shirley, Rob and Rebecca! Please also join us in saying thank you and goodby to Ms. Bradt ,a wonderful Educational Assistant that did an amazing job with our kindergarten students over the last few months in Ms. Murray’s class. We wish her well a she continues her career with the HWDSB. Join us in welcoming a very skilled and talented Ms. Smith who will be the new Educational Assistant in the kindergarten program. Be sure to introduce yourselves and make her feel welcome like you do with all of our new staff, visitors and families!

A reminder that there is a School Council Meeting taking place tomorrow, Monday, March 18th at 6:30pm in the library. All are welcome and childcare will be provided. Please contact the school office at 905 575 1535 for more information.

Ridgemount Road To Success Expectations:
Always keep your hands and feet to yourself
Be where you’re supposed to be
Treat others how you want to be treated
Calm and quiet movement in the hall
Listen to and follow instruction from all adults in the school

Due to the bus driver shortage we continue to expereince delays and we apologize for this inconvenience. We are working together with transportation to try to resolve these isseus.  Please be sure to sign up for email notifications of delays and cancellations on the HWSTS (Hamiilton Wentworth Student Transporation) website at : www.hamiltonschoolbus.ca  .

Please be sure to Our buses have been arriving at various times and not in the order that they usually arrive so please be sure to remind your children to make their way to their bus lines in the gymnasium as quickly as possible to avoid missing their buses. Announcements are made to gather all students and our staff and Bus Patrol Team do a great job ensuring that our students transition to and from buses. As there are a large number of students that take buses please let your child’s teacher or the office know if you have concerns about your child making their way to the bus on time and we will pair them up with an older bus buddy. Due to the bus driver shortage we continue to expereince delays and we apologize for this inconvenience.

Please also be reminded to follow the signs located around the school regarding parking and school bus loading zones located at the front and east side of the school as well as in the back parking lot. We would like to ensure that safety of all our students and staff and our Bylaw Officers will be monitoring and giving out tickets to those.

We will ask that parents/guardians not enter the parking lot during entry/dismissal as we have had a couple of close calls with accidents and we must allow safe access for our school buses that drop students off in the parking lot. Please drop students off in the desiganted areas on Ronaldshay Street and avoid blocking the entrance/exit to the school parking lot to allow for our buses to enter and depart safely.
