Ridgemount Families:

Congratulations to  our girls and boys senior volleyball teams for their successful season. Both teams made it to the finals and came away with silver medals! Well done Roadrunners! Thank you to all coaches, referees, spectators and families that came out to support our teams.

Please help us fill our Mitten Tree at Ridgemount Elementary. We are collecting mittens and gloves to help warm the hands in our community for the winter. We will be accepting your donations from Monday, Dec 10 through Friday, Dec 21st. Please send them along with your children to school. Mittens and gloves will be taken to Neighbour to Neighbour and they will pass on to families and children in need. Thank you everyone!

A reminder to be sure that students dress appropriately for the weather as it is getting colder. Be sure to check the lost and found bin when you are in the school as we have an overflow of  items. These items will be sent off to local charities later this week so be sure to have your child check for lost items. A reminder to remind your children to keep the snow on the ground. They may roll, place and build snow sculptures but may not toss, throw or kick snow as there will be appropriate consequences. Thank you.

Please also be reminded to follow the signs located around the school regarding parking and school bus loading zones (at the front and east side of the school as well as in the back parking lot. We would like to ensure that safety of all our students and staff and our Bylaw Officers will be monitoring and giving out tickets to those. We will ask that parents/guardians not enter the parking lot during entry/dismissal as we have had a couple of close calls with accidents and we must allow safe access for our school buses that drop students off in the parking lot. Please drop off on Ronaldshay and be sure students use the sidewalk and not walk through the parking lot.

A reminder that if you need to stop by the school you will need to enter at the front entrance on Hester St. As we are a secure facility you will need to push the doorbell button and wait for an office staff to identify you and then open the door.  If you are dropping off lunches for your child you can place it on the lunch cart outside the office labelled “Student Lunches”. Be sure to prearrange this with your child so that they know to come to the office at the Nutrition Break to pick up their lunch as we are unable to keep lunches in the office area.

Thanks and have a great week everyone!
