Week Of May 14-18

Ridgemount LogoThank you to all of those families that came out to our open house last week. It was a great success and it was wonderful to see so many families! Thank you to all of the staff, students and school council for organizing our food trucks, freezie sales, ESL booth, water bottle sales and the book fair. We hope that you all had a marvelous Mother’s Day and that you celebrated with that special someone in your life!

Welcome to KindergartenA reminder that our Welcome to Kindergarten orientation takes place on Monday, May 14th from 4:00-5::00 and we will begin in the library. We look forward to meeting all of our new Kindergarten students and families.  Students and families will have an opportunity to meet our Kindergarten Team and to visit classrooms for a sample of the full day learning program and what it consists of.  There will be childcare available and several other booths showcasing the events that take place at Ridgemount.

Our School Council will also meet on Monday, May 14th from 6:30-7:30pm in the library. All families are welcome so please come out and join us. Unfortunately childcare will not be available for this meeting.

To decrease plastic use in our community and to support our school ECO Friendly initiative our school Green Team will be selling reusable water bottles featuring the NEW Ridgemount Logo. We still have several water bottles for sale and the cost for each water bottle is $5.00.

Water bottlesPlease support our ECO Initiative and support our planet! If interested please send in $5.00 with your child and have them see Ms. Gresku our Learning Resource Teacher in her classroom to purchase a water bottle. Thank you.

A reminder that next Monday, May 21st is the Victoria Day Holiday and there will be no school that day.

Parents and guardians, please have a conversation with your child or children about our Ridgemount Road to Success and our new focus of Organization. What do these look like? How can we accomplish these goals? How do these goals show Responsibility which is the focus for the next few weeks and April’s assembly.

Organization Is:

Organization
  • I will keep my desk and locker neat and tidy.
  • I will put classroom materials back in the right place
  • I will use class time effectively and do my best work
