Possible Coyote Sighting at Queensdale

Monday, March 12, 2018

We have been informed by members of the school community of possible coyote sightings recently on our school property.

I would like to share the following information as a precaution:

According to the City of Hamilton’s website, if you or your children encounter a coyote, please take the following steps to protect yourself:

Stay calm if a coyote approaches you and wait until they move on.
Shout, clap your hands together or make a loud noise to scare coyotes away.
Tell your children to stay away from coyotes and other wildlife.
Call Animal Services at 905-574-3433 to report injured or dead wildlife.

Watch: Just One Wish Kindness Awards
The third annual Just One Wish Kindness Awards were held on July 1, 2017 in Gage Park during the It's Your Festival celebrations for Canada's 150th birthday. Organizers honoured 151 children (150 for Canada's birthday and one for good luck), age 4 to 18, from across HWDSB for their kindness. These children exemplify what is means to be Canadian and what Canada is all about. Congratulations to all!
