PIC Events

Focus 4 Family

Each spring, HWDSB and the Parent Involvement Committee present Focus 4 Family – a program designed to offer educational, recreational and creative programs for your family. Our goal is to create learning opportunities that will engage, empower, and educate all families in HWDSB. Focus 4 Family programs are for every member of your family (newborns to seniors).

Profiling Volunteer Excellence

Run by a PIC subcommittee and HWDSB, Profiling Volunteer Excellence celebrates the excellence of one of our greatest assets – volunteers. Do you know of an individual or group that has been making a difference in the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board community? An annual gala recognizes volunteers as individuals, as groups and for their years of service.

School Council Networking Nights

Current School Council Chairs are invited to participate in an open forum discussion. These events being held will allow School Council Chairs to come together, meet, and brainstorm different ideas for their councils.

Other HWDSB Meetings

Please click here to see the schedule for all other public meetings, including for the parent advisory group Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC). In addition, the French Immersion Advisory Committee (FIAC) advises the Board on French immersion.

Please note: There aren’t any scheduled meetings during the months of July and August unless a special issue should arise. Holidays and mid-winter break may necessitate changes to the above schedule.

Outside Events

McMaster Children and Youth University lecture series for youth
The university experience starts early for young people who sign-up for the McMaster Children & Youth University (McMaster CYU). Our program of FREE, monthly Saturday-morning lectures is aimed at students, 7 – 14 years of age, with the goal of engaging them with exciting educational topics while providing a sneak peek into the university environment.
