ART is ALIVE AND WELL at Parkside! The Visual
Arts Dep't encourages students to explore, invent and create!
Our goals are to promote self-expression through the visual
arts and develop skills applicable to the many art-related
careers. There are traditional drawing, painting, printmaking
and art history units of study in grade 9 through 12 art courses.
Special focus courses are offered in graphics, media, portfolio
and sculpture at the grade 11 and 12 levels.
Community Involvement
Many students participate in the Co-Op program through art-related
positons offered in local schools, galleries and retail outlets.
The Annual Carnegie Gallery Art Show is held in May to showcase
Parkside painting, printmaking, photography and sculpture.
Art Trips
Italy, France, Britain, Greece, New York, Spain...MAGIC RIDE
is the Parkside art student's travel club. Galleries, museums,
sightseeing... we see it all with professional tour leaders
and guides.
