Emergency Procedures

Attention: Mount Hope families

As part of the HWDSB Safe Schools Policy, every year schools are required to conduct a series of Emergency procedures with students and staff to ensure they are prepared in the event of an emergency.

Below are the dates of our drills:

Lockdown – once per term

September 14th – in the morning

Shelter in Place – once per year

September 18th – in the morning

Bomb Threat – once per year

September 20th – in the morning

Hold & Secure – once per year

September 25th – in the morning

Fire Drill – three per term

ongoing

We all have responsibilities to ensure everyone’s safety. Students are made aware of their responsibilities prior and during an emergency procedure. As parents and guardians you have a vital role as well.

Parents/Guardians will:

  • Reinforce with their child the importance to follow directions during an emergency
  • Disclose any information they may have prior to or during an emergency
  • Refrain from calling their child’s cell phone during a lockdown
  • Ensure the office has up to date contact information so they can be easily reached

Thank you for your cooperation and continued support.
