Home School Communications

Last updated on Monday, August 24, 2015.

All students, Grade 1 – 5 will have an agenda book. These books are the primary form of communication between home and school. Please remember to check this each night and initial. All Grade 1 – 5 students will receive an agenda the first week of school. Parents are welcome to offset the cost of the school purchasing the agendas by contributing $5.00 if you wish. This is related to the HWDSB Student Fees Policy. Read on for more information.

If you need to speak to your child’s teacher you may call the school to arrange a mutually convenient time. Please do not text or email teachers unless they have indicated that this would be acceptable.

Remember, the agenda is just one way that staff can communicate with you. There are many situations when a phone call or a face-to-face meeting may be better.

We wish to emphasize the importance of Parent/Teacher interviews to discuss the growth and development of your child. Please make every effort to attend scheduled interviews. You may also ask for an interview with the teacher by calling or writing the school.

Please make an appointment with the principal if you wish to discuss school decisions or policies.

 A school newslet

ter and calendar will be posted on the school website once a month ( If you wish to have a paper copy, please inform the office. Teachers communicate with a monthly newsletter. Check out our school website for other information.

Please know that the office welcomes your questions. An appointment is not always necessary, but helps to ensure that the principal is available.
