Safe School Drills

Safe School Drills:

Hold and Secure: Tuesday, November 13th, period 2

This protocol is used when the school is secured due to an ongoing situation outside and not related to the school that requires all persons to remain in the building.  This drill occurs when an outside agency, or police notify the school that there is an outside threat or concern.  All movement in and out of the school is restricted, so students, family, and community members will not be able to gain access to the school between 9:50 and 10:30 am on Tuesday if they are not already in our building.

Lockdown: Wednesday, November 28th, period 1

This protocol is used when there is a violent incident or threat of serious violence within the school, or in relation to the school.  In this situation, all movement in and out of the school and within the school is restricted.  Normal operations do not continue within the building i.e no phone calls answered, no one greeting the community in the office etc.  All staff and students will be seeking safe and quiet shelter in “safe rooms.”
