Further Water Testing for Lead Results

Dear Parents, Guardians and Caregivers

As you are aware, our school recently underwent water testing for lead, in accordance with the provincial regulations (O.Reg 243/07). A letter was posted on our school website on November 7 saying there were potential concerns identified within the school and all drinking water fountains were being removed from service as a precaution.

HWDSB staff continued testing all drinking fixtures at the school and the results have started to return. No new concerns have been found. Our Health & Safety representatives have consulted with Public Health and I am pleased to let you know that we are able to put 9 drinking water fixtures back into service at this point. We hope to bring additional drinking water fixtures back into service as we receive our sample results.
