Principal’s Letter

Dear Students, Parents and Guardians:

We hope you are enjoying a safe, restful and rejuvenating summer. As you engage in summer activities with family and friends, we are busy getting ready to welcome you back at MacNab in the fall. Even though our main focus at Sir Allan MacNab is academics, we provide numerous extra-curricular activities such as clubs, music nights, sports and spirit events to make school fun, interesting and enjoyable. We look forward to welcoming you back to the new school year!

One recent and exciting innovation at MacNab is our new Specialist High Skills Major Hospitality program. Over the summer, construction has started to create a working kitchen classroom modelled after industry. Students will have unique and engaging opportunities in the Foods and Hospitality sector going forward. This is just one element of the creative programming offered here at MacNab in service of student success.

If you are a returning student and you haven’t already received your report please come to the main office to pick it up. As we enter into a new year, please review your report card and begin to set goals for yourself for the upcoming year.

Timetables are available for pick up at MacNab from 10am – 12pm based on the following schedule:

Grade 10 Tuesday, August 22

Grade 11 Wednesday, August 23

Grade 12 Thursday, August 24

For grade nine students:  We will be having an open house on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 starting at 10:30 a.m. We will have a number of teachers and students in the building to help you become comfortable at MacNab. As you are new students to MacNab, we will provide tours and let you find your way around your new school. Parents are welcome to join us at 12:30 to ask questions of staff and become familiarized with our school.

Also see the website news feed for general information that will be helpful to students, parents and guardians as you enter school this fall.

We look forward to seeing you in September! Enjoy the rest of the summer.

Mr. G. Clark
