HISTORY
THE NEW LAWFIELD
On November 9th 2005 an F1 tornado struck Lawfield Middle School causing considerable damage to the building. Students and staff were relocated to a temporary site for two years until the new school was constructed. Lawfield School opened on November 19th, 2007. It is now a K to 8 school of 650 students with a French Immersion program. Our goal is to position our school for the future and the learner for the 21st Century. The vision for Lawfield was to have a universal design from the beginning to integrate technology into the instructional model for the entire school. The philosophy is a forward thinking model and bring the educational process into the 21st Century. Our goal is to position our school for the future and the learner for the 21st Century. As far as change goes, the belief is to take chances, be innovative risk takers and do what is necessary to provide our children with the optimal learning environment to be prepared for the future. Lawfield’s mission is to ensure all students receive the skills and resources that will enable them to succeed in a world that’s increasingly influenced by the information and communication technologies. We believe our Program of Choice – Learning Through Technology can perpetuate an educational transformation and enhance student achievement.
