Hi All,

School Travel Plan Committee Meeting

Our goal is to promote walking / biking to school and reduce the congestion of cars on Kingslea Dr. from 8:45 a.m. to 9:10 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. to 3:35 p.m. Why: to improve on the Health and Safety of pedestrian traffic coming to school.

On Thursday morning you might have noticed the committee members standing observing the traffic flow on Kingslea Dr at 8:45 a.m.  Here are the most important items we would like to pass on to the community:

  1. Please observe the posted traffic signs on the roadway, specifically the No Stopping on the east side of Kingslea Dr.
  2. I will be asking the By-Law Officers to make unscheduled stops at the school to support the traffic signs.
  3. I will be giving cars ample notice that a By-Law Officer will be making unscheduled visits to the school from 8:45 a.m. to 9:10 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. to 3:35 p.m.
  4. There is ample parking on Sandlewood Dr. to stop, park, get out of your car and walk your child to the school.

I sent a letter home to all families last week.  As a result you have responded to ensure the safety of all.  I want to thank you for not entering the orange coned Kindergarten parking lot to drop off your child.

Changing our drop off and pick up routines will take some time; this is understandable.  But I know this is to benefit all of us.  We all cherish our own children’s safety and the safety of all children.

PA Day

Friday December 1 is a PA Day, therefore there will be no school for children.  Our staff will be involved in learning about mathematics and the reading acquisition skills for Kindergarten and Grade 1 students.
