French Immersion Information Sessions for Parents of Senior Kindergarten Students

French Immersion is a proven way of acquiring excellent language skills in French. The French Immersion program at HWDSB is specifically designed for parents who do not speak French, but want their children to speak both official languages. The program is open to all students in Hamilton-Wentworth starting in Grade 1 (born in 2013).

The following information sessions are planned for parents considering French Immersion as an option for their child:

7-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 10 at Lawfield Elementary School (45 Berko Ave. Hamilton)

7-8 p.m. Thursday, October 18 at Cootes Paradise Elementary School (900 King St. W., Hamilton)

7-8 p.m. Thursday, October 25 at A. M. Cunningham Elementary School (100 Wexford Ave. S., Hamilton)

7-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 30 at Fessenden Elementary School (168 Huron Ave., Ancaster)

7-8 p.m. Thursday, November 8 at Guy Brown Elementary School, (55 Braeheid Ave. Waterdown)

Parents may choose to attend the location or date most convenient for them.

HWDSB uses an application process for entry into French Immersion. To be eligible to enter French Immersion, your child must have been born in 2013. Our registration process is done online through our website at www.hwdsb.on.ca/fi. Here you can find the important dates for registration and more information about the process. The registration processes will also be discussed at the information sessions.
