Highview Green Team Update…

Parents & Guardians,

Please see the following update from the Highview Green Team:

GREEN TEAM UPDATE FOR MARCH 2018!

The green Team is back and better than ever! We are excited to make a positive change at our school and for our planet!

Our regularly scheduled meetings are starting up again and this month we look forward to fun eco activities and projects, learning new skills such as cold framing to plant and grow food in the colder months and planning earth day events to help our school go green! We will be planting garlic at the end of the month to share with our Highview families in the fall as well! We are really looking forward to our grade 7 green teamers having special centres during some of our meetings that they will be planning and running themselves!

We are looking for 2 Litre pop bottles to use for pop bottle planting and to upcycle them to make seating for our outdoor classroom too! Please send as many as you like our way! We are also always looking for outdoor furniture, scrap wood to make signs of all sizes for our space and any tools/gardening gear etc. that anyone may be getting rid of. We are happy to recycle and reuse them!

Don’t forget about our green library section full of books about gardening and cooking of all kinds as well as eco crafts, green ideas and much more! All are welcome to use these books!

Welcome back to our awesome green team and new members as well! We can’t wait to get started for our best year yet with many new activities to look forward to!!!

Thank you to the fundraising committee and parent council for generously donating the poinsettia fundraiser proceeds to the green team! We will make sure its put to great use for the school with all our members involved!
