As winter approaches, we want to remind all HWDSB families about how we make the decision to cancel school and board operations. This is often a difficult call to make, and is made with the safety and security of our students and staff in mind.
HWDSB is holding a Women in Trades Dinner for young women in Grades 11 and 12 and their parents, guardians or caregivers on Thursday, November 30.
This is an opportunity to hear directly from women in industry about how Skilled Trades are viable career paths.

To mark Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week, HWDSB is working to make schools safer with its new bullying resource and continuing support for the board-wide use of the innovative anti-bullying TipOff service.

Watch: Just One Wish Kindness Awards
The third annual Just One Wish Kindness Awards were held on July 1, 2017 in Gage Park during the It's Your Festival celebrations for Canada's 150th birthday. Organizers honoured 151 children (150 for Canada's birthday and one for good luck), age 4 to 18, from across HWDSB for their kindness. These children exemplify what is means to be Canadian and what Canada is all about. Congratulations to all!
