TERRY FOX RUN

Posted on Thursday, September 28, 2017

UPDATE: THE TERRY FOX RUN WILL BE RESCHEDULED IF THE WEATHER DOES NOT COOPERATE WITH US.   WE WILL UPDATE AS SOON AS WE CAN.

On Friday, September 29th, 2017 students from Guy Brown will be participating in the Terry Fox National School Run Day.  Students from Grades 1 to 8 will be walking over to Memorial Park in Waterdown to run/walk the new path in honour of Terry Fox.  Our kindergarten students will be staying “home” at Guy Brown to participate in a run/walk around the school.

Toonies for Terry is a new tradition Guy Brown has introduced over the past few years.  It is a great way for students and families the help support The Terry Fox Foundation.  Students are encouraged to bring in and donate a Toonie or two leading up to the event on the 29th.  Every day, a few senior students will visit homerooms to collect donations.  All monies raised will be forwarded to The Terry Fox Foundation.

Another way families can choose to donate is through the online site at http://www.terryfox.ca/GuyBBrownPublic.  This link will take you directly to our school page on the Terry Fox Foundation website.  This site, which is run by the Terry Fox Foundation, is secure and receipts can be printed immediately after completing the donation form.

I’d like to thank the Parent Student Teacher Action Committee for graciously donating their time and resources to organize, gather and hand out refreshments and snacks during our school event.
