Attendance and Lates

Hi all,

Thank you to all who make tracking and ensuring 595 students arrive safe everyday.  The phone calls letting us know when your child will be away is critical to that success as it reduces the number of calls we need to make when we don’t know why a child is absent.  When we don’t know it’s considered unexplained which then requires us to call parents to confirm.  We apologize for the rare time we make a call thinking a student is way when they were just marked down incorrectly.  It is very important to please call in and leave a message on our machine when your child will be away.

We are also noticing that many students are arriving late.  School starts at 9:00 am.  We know that mornings can be hectic for families, however part of a students development is learning time management, which includes arriving on time.  The first part of the am is critical as many classes get started as soon as possible so that we maximize our instructional time.   We would like to thank parents/guardians for their continued support in helping students arrive on time.
