Parent Council 2017-18

Hi all,

At the Nov 6 meeting of Parent Council, elections were held.  We would like to congratulate Krystal Legge and Heema Tank who will be taking the Co-Chair roles, Suzy Graham and Suzie Popovic who will continue in their roles of Co-Chairs Fundraising, Heather Mckenzie, Secretary, and Dragana Franjesevic, Treasurer.  Thank you to these volunteers who have stepped up to represent your interests on Parent Council. 

I would like to thank Robyn Patchev, who stepped down this year, after 2 years as Chair.  In that time, her tireless efforts advocating for student need and being a strong voice for the community was clearly evident.  She fostered a feeling of teamwork and common purpose that saw council grow from a handful of parents to the close to 20 members we have today.  That membership continues to grow.  She was your voice and link to the school.  On a personal note, as a new principal here just a short 2 years ago, Robyn was one of the first parents I got to know.  Robyn’s insights and understanding of our community was invaluable to me as I learned about our great community.  That continues to be true today.   We are pleased that Robyn is continuing as a member of council and will serve as a valuable parental voice at the table.  Thank you Robyn.

Thank you to all the parents and community members who have give their time to be a part of Council, we are better for it!!
