“Heelys” and School

Hi all,

Many of our students have been bringing their Heeleys to school as their footwear.  We would request that these shoes stay at home.  The safety of all students is the concern.  They navigate the stairs numerous times a day which poses a significant risk to falling.  It is not appropriate footwear for recess times running and engaging outside.  Lastly our custodian staff take tremendous pride in keeping our school clean.  The Heelys are starting to leave marks in the hallways and classrooms.  If students do show with those shoes and they don’t have replacements at school they will be asked to call home for appropriate footwear.  Thanks.
