Home and School will run from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.; School Council Meeting between 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Ms. N. Niessen Is Retiring

Yes, I know. It’s true. Ms. Niessen will be retiring. To commemorate her years at the Board and with Earl Kitchener School, we invite you to come for a retirement drop in at the school on Tuesday, June 28th at 3:10 p.m. Please pencil the date in. See you there!

EK Staff Appreciation Day Appreciation

On behalf of the staff at Earl Kitchener School, we would like to express our warmest thanks for making last Friday a special day for us. We thoroughly enjoyed the treats, and thank you for the time you took to prepare and bring in all the scrumptious goodies!

The Book Swap Was A HUGE Success!

The Book Swap was a huge success!  Thank you to families who donated books prior to the event, the volunteers who helped run the Swap, and the kids, school staff, and parents who shopped on the day of the Swap.  Together we raised $574 for the Earl Kitchener School library! Thank you!

Everyone Loves Freezies

Thank you to all who bought Freezies after the Book Swap to support Max’s Big Ride.  We raised $313!  We will be selling Freezies again this Thursday, June 9th after school.  Freezies will be $1 and all proceeds will again go to Max’s Big Ride.  We are also looking for four (4) volunteers to sell Freezies that day.  Please email [email protected] if you are able to help.

Coin Drive

The coin drive to raise money for Max’s Big Ride will start June 8th and end on June 15th.  Please check your children’s backpacks for a bag to collect coins.  The class that collects the most coins will win a special prize!  The winning class will be announced on June 17th at our send-off event for Max and his family.  Earl Kitchener, let’s all support Max as he begins his big adventure and raises money for Duchene Muscular Dystrophy!

Absences

I understand the year is winding down and there is a lot going on, but just a friendly reminder to please keep the office informed if your child will be absent from school – whether it is due to illness, an appointment, vacation plans, etc.  Our phone lines are open 24-hours a day, and you can leave a detailed voicemail message by calling (905) 528-0223.  Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Are You Moving?

If you already know you will be moving, or your child will not be coming to Earl Kitchener in September, please email the office at [email protected] or call and leave a voicemail message at (905) 528-0223.  We are planning for next year, and appreciate your assistance.

Have a wonderful week!
