Shelter in Place Drill

As required by our board’s Safe Schools Policy, we will be conducting a Shelter in Place drill at Dundana on Friday, January 20 at approximately 10:25 a.m.  The duration of the drill is expected to be approximately 10 minutes.

Shelter in Place is generally used for an environmental or weather related situation where it would be necessary to keep all occupants within the school to protect them.  This response might be recommended by Police, Fire Department or EMS.  Examples may include chemical spills, gas leaks, downed wires or extreme weather in the vicinity.  During both our drill and an actual Shelter in Place event, people would be allowed to enter the building but required to stay once inside.  During this response we will close all windows and doors but normal operations within the school will continue.

If you have any questions, please contact Principal Kristi Keery Bishop at 905.628.2622.
