Principal's Message

The staff at Dr. John Seaton attempt to provide a "well rounded" education for the students we serve. We are concerned with the academic, physical, social and emotional development of children. The "3 R's" are a priority and our EQAO results bear that out. We also attempt to provide quality programs in the art, physical education, music, information technology and all the other subjects in the Ontario Curriculum. "Respect, Responsibility and Results" describe the school climate we attempt to provide. We encourage our students to make the most of their time at our school.We want our pupils to get involved with all aspects of school life. Participation in extracurricular activities also contributes to successful child development. Our motto "Work Hard, Play Hard" hopefully provides incentive to our students to develop a good work ethic, the essential social skills, the morals and values to become successful citizens and future leaders.

We are also very aware that your child's development is a partnership among home, school and the community. It is essential that there is a strong communication link between home and school. We encourage our parents to participate supportively in their child's education. You are a role model demonstrating "the importance of education". Assist your child by reading school correspondence, checking the agenda, helping your child with their assignments and reading to and with them. Encourage them to "get involved" in the programs and activities. You can also assist us by volunteering when the need arises and by supporting our school events and fund raising. Our School Council, P.T.O.,staff, parents,school community and students all play an integral role in producing the supportive, caring and successful school environment that have. As our Director of Education stated when he visited our school this year, "You get a good feeling walking into this school....a lot of good things are happening here."
