History Of The Cell Theory By: K R
1.
All
living organisms are composed of one or more cells.
2.
Cells
are the basic unit of structure and function in all organisms.
3.All cells come from previously existing
cells.
4.The activity of an entire organism depends on the
total activity of its independent cells.

With out cell’s nothing or nobody would be living on this earth today or ever. Everything living is made up of cells. That sentence right there gets many people thinking what do cell’s do, What are there purpose, What kinds of cells are there and so forth. This information will give you better understanding of cells.
Cell theory has been a theory like many theory’s that have been tossed around everywhere. Not many people know that cell theory formulated in the 1800’s. There was one man who pieced together the cell theory. This mans name was Rudolph Virchow.(1821-1902) Lets go back in time before Rudolph came along. For instance, when scientist had scientific ideas about life! They started realizing what factors became into play, when thinking how important cells are. Then cell theory’s starting being made so many scientist naming thus the cell theory. Then Rudolph Virchow came into play and verified this to be the “cell theory”.
Timeline For The Cell
Theory
In 500 B.C.E the ancient people found living organisms. Then thought how the living organisms could be used.
In c334 B.C.E a greek philosopher can find out nature directly. He demonstrated a lot of knowledge such as classifying all organisms into two : plants and animals. He also knowledge that living organism’s can appear from non-living things.
In 1665 a man named Robert Hooke almost found out the cell theory before passing away in 1703.
In 1825 it was discovered that every
cell is derived from a preexisting cell by a French chemist Francais Vinent
Raspail.
In 1858 the man who pieced together
the cell theory “Robert Virchow” said “Cells are the last link in a great chain
that forms tissues, organs, systems, and individuals. Where a cell exists.
There must have been a preexisting cell….Through out the whole series of living
forms ….. There rules law of continuous development.
Many people when they learn the
cell theory think that the four points to it is all the cell theory. But there is a lot of history relating to
the cell theory as you have seen. History can go back to 500 B.C to our
knowledge. This will provide you with
the basic out line of the cell theory.
Definitions
1.Cell
Cycle- in a cell, the continuous process of mitosis, cell division, interphase
and growth.
2.Cell
Plate-in plant cell division, develops to form a cell wall between the two new
cells.
3.Cell
Membrane-the selectively permeable structure enclosing the cell contents.
4.Chromatin-long
strands of DNA scattered through out a cell’s nucleus.
5.Interphase-the
period of time during where the cell is not going through mitosis.
6.Meiosis-in
cell division, the process that ensures each gamete is haploid.
7.Mitosis-the
process by which genetic material duplicated divides into two identical sets of
chromosomes.
8.Ribosomes-small,
granular cell structures involved in the moving of proteins.
9.
Spore- a haploid cell that can develop into a new organism without
fertilization.
10.Somatic
Cell-Body cell and not a reproductive cell, such as egg or sperm.
