Dalewood Library - What's Happening in March?

MS Read-A-Thon

Dalewood will be participating in the MS Read-A-Thon again this year. Through reading, your child will be helping those living with multiple sclerosis.

Kick-off Assembly: Monday, March 22

MS Read-A-Thon runs March 22 through to April 23

For more information please go to: the MS Society website.

Students in 81, 82 and 83 will be participating in a Writers' Workshop with author Ellen Jaffe from March 22 through March 26. While exploring the concept of "place" (where we are, where we were, where we are going), students will be developing their creative writing skills.

The Ontario Library Associations's Forest of Reading Programs continue, with students meeting Mondays (Silver Birch) and Thursdays (Red Maple) at lunch recess. Voting for the medal winners will take place the week of April 19.

Reminders!
Our overdue list is a long one at the moment. Students with overdue books have been given several reminders, have been asked to check lockers and are encouraged to scour their bedrooms and home bookcases for the books.

Scholastic order forms are in the library for anyone wishing to pick one up and see what's available. When placing an order, please make cheques payable to "Scholastic Canada".

The Virtual Library (Virtual Library) may be accessed by students through the Board's website (www.hwdsb.on.ca/) under the "Students" tab. The Virtual Library allows students to have access to many very useful on-line resources. Check it out!
