of behaviours for lunchtime:

-
Remain seated during time allotted for eating.
-
Volume of voice and eating behaviour should be that
of a family dining out in a restaurant...Low, private and polite.
-
"Bring what you need and eat what you bring"...Preferably
in a recyclable container.
-
Listen to announcements for reminders of lunch hour
activities.
-
Washroom visits need permission of the supervising
teacher and sign out of the classroom.
-
Visit the School Store only during the first 5 minutes
of the break. The School Store will be open for the first 15 minutes
of lunch.
-
After eating, remain seated. Play games or talk quietly.Put
your garbage away and put your chairs in at the bell.
-
Report problems to the teacher on duty.
-
When the bell rings, WAIT for teacher
dismissal, then walk quickly and quietly outside.
-
Do not bring food or drink in glass containers.
-
Do not throw out your lunch...Take it home.
-
We do have students with severe, life-threatening
allergies to peanuts and any or all peanut by-products. We
do expect that students will avoid bringing any food products containing
peanut products.
- Locker Visits: visit your locker if needed before
going out, and remember that once you are outside you will need a teacher's
permission to come back in. For safety reasons it is important that
you take from your locker what you need (coat, hat, equipment etc.)
right after you are dismissed. This will decrease the traffic inside
the building and will help staff and administration to supervise all
student activities.
-
When outside at recess, stay in the permitted areas.
Only return in the building with permission of a teacher.
