Report cards were sent home with students on Mar. 27. I hope that parents and children have had the opportunity to discuss progress and areas where students need to improve. There is no “ formal” interview day scheduled this term; however you may contact the school if you feel you wish to discuss your childs` progress to date.

Closing Ceremonies and 50th Anniversary Event:
The community celebration to mark the anniversary and closing of Central Park School will take place on Saturday May 12 from 11:00 – 2:00pm. The Anniversary and Closing Committee has met and have planned an exciting “Open House” event to mark this very special occasion. We hope to see everyone out on that day to help celebrate. There will be a slide show, barbecue, face painting, anniversary cake and decade rooms to walk through. Opening ceremonies will take place at 11:00am in the gym. See you there!

Jump Rope for Heart
On Friday March 23 we had our “Kick off Assembly” for Jump Rope for Heart.. Did you know that over the last nine years our school has raised $60,000.00 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation? This year also marks the 25th anniversary of Jump Rope for Heart! Students are now actively involved in skipping at school and increasing their fitness levels as well as their knowledge of heart health. Thank you for supporting their efforts to remain healthy and raise funds for this worthy cause. As a school we have set a goal of raising $10,000.00! Mr. Siertsma has volunteered to dye his hair “lime green” if we meet this challenge. So let`s get our community to support this event as I am sure that Mr. Siertsma will look great with green hair! !!!!!! If you are able to help out on that day please contact the office. Skipping Day is Friday April 13 at 11:45am. Come and join us

SCHOOL COUNCIL
Minutes from school council meetings are posted on the parent board in the front foyer. The next Council Meeting takes place on April. 25at 6:30pm. in the Library.

Good bye Mrs. Stark!
It is with mixed feelings that I announce that Mrs. Stark will be leaving Central Park School for a new position as secretary of Helen Detwiler School. Mrs. Stark has been at Central Park for nine years and is always so helpful to parents, students and staff. Her last day at central park is April 5. We will miss her warm smile and friendly manner; however we wish her every success at new position!

Central Park Tee Shirts:
A special anniversary / closing edition of Central Park tee shirts will be available for purchase in early May. Please look for flyers coming home near the end of April. Don`t miss your opportunity to purchase the last piece of memorabilia from the school!
