Head Lice
School children get head lice more often than adults. When children play, their heads often touch, allowing lice to crawl from head to head. Head lice are spread by this direct head-to-head contact only. Head lice are no reflection on one’s state of cleanliness. Anyone can get head lice. For more information on how to check for head lice and what to do if you find your child has them, please read the attached FactsOfLice or visit Public Health’s website https://www.hamilton.ca/public-health/health-topics/head-lice
If you do find that your child has head lice, please inform the school. If you have any further questions that have not been answered by the “Facts of Lice” or Public Health’s website, please call the school or contact your family physician.
