I am 21 years old or older

So, you’ve told us you’re at least 21 years old, now we need to know how many credits you’ve actually completed.

I have been out of school for less than one year

You’ve shared with us that you are at least 21 years old, have have fewer than 16 Secondary School credits and have been out of school for less than a year.  

What should you do next?

First, contact the Assessment Centre (905-521-2554) to book a FREE Credit Assessment and to learn how PLAR can help you complete your remaining grade 9 & 10 credits and to explore the options available to you so you can get back to school!   If you need to build basic skills in Literacy and Math to help you be successful in school, please contact the Academic Upgrading program at the King William Learning Centre (905-526-9337).

What programs are available to you?

Independent Study  – Senior Level credits that you will need in order to graduate.  d2L Hybrid Night School – these are Senior Level credit courses as well as Math and Literacy preparation courses to help you build your skills – these are on-line classes with tutoring support.  Once you have been out of school for at least a year, we recommend you participate in a FREE Credit Assessment at the Assessment Centre where you can begin the PLAR (Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition) process to assist you with catching up your remaining grade 9 & 10 credits.

I have been out of school for more than one year

You’ve shared with us that you are at least 21 years old, have fewer than 16 Secondary School credits and have been out of school for more than a year. 

What should you do next?

Contact the Assessment Centre to attend a FREE Credit Assessment (905-521-2554) to get started on the Grade 9/10 PLAR  (Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition) process.

What programs are available to you?

Complete the PLAR (Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition) process to assist you with catching up your remaining grade 9 & 10 credits.  If you need support to understand the PLAR testing materials, contact the King William Learning Centre (905-526-9337) to join the Academic Upgrading program to help you prepare.  Once you are done the PLAR process you can get started on other CCE Credit programs.

I have been out of school for less than one year

You’ve shared with us that you are at least 21 years old, have 17-26 Secondary School credits and have been out of school for less than a year. 

What should you do next?

First, contact the Assessment Centre (905-521-2554) to learn how Mature PLAR can help you complete your remaining credits and to explore the options available to you so you can get back to school!  Contact the Hill Park Learning Centre (905-561-2190) to inquire for Adult Day SchoolD2L Hybrid Night School,  Night School or an Independent Study course.

What programs are available to you?

Once you have been out of school for at least a year, we recommend you participate in a Credit Assessment at the Assessment Centre (905-521-2554) where you can begin the Mature PLAR Process.  You can be granted up to two credits per year since you last attended school based on your life experience – all students are required to complete their final four credits. Your other options include: Adult Day School (at Hill Park or King William Learning Centres), D2L Hybrid Night SchoolWork for CreditIndependent StudyNight School or Summer School.

You’ve shared with us that you are at least 21 years old, have 17-26 Secondary School credits and have been out of school for more than a year.
