I am 18-20 years old

So, you’ve told us you’re 18-20 years old right now, the next thing we need to know is how many credits have you already earned?

I have been out of school for less than one year

You’ve shared with us that you are between 18-20 years old, have fewer than 16 Secondary School credits and have been out of school for less than a year.  Do we have it right?  If not, please click HERE to go back to the start.

What should you do next?

Contact the Hill Park Learning Centre (905-561-2190) to inquire about signing up for FASTtrack, an Independent Study  or d2L Hybrid course.

What programs are available to you?

Once you have been out of school for a year you can begin the PLAR (Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition) process to assist you with catching up your remaining grade 9 & 10 credits, so get the ball rolling and participate in a FREE Credit Assessment at the Assessment Centre.  Once you’ve been assessed start working on credits with FASTtrack – this program is designed just for you; you can earn credits and build your skills while you wait until you’re eligible for PLAR credits.  Independent Study  or d2L Hybrid Night School – Senior Level credits that you will need in order to graduate, Hybrid Night School also offers you Math and Literacy courses to help you build your skills.

I have been out of school for more than one year

You’ve shared with us that you are between 18-20 years old, have fewer than 16 Secondary School credits and have been out of school for more than a year. 

What should you do next?

Contact the Assessment Centre to attend a Credit Assessment (905-521-2554) to get started for FREE on the Grade 9/10 PLAR  (Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition) process.

What programs are available to you?

Complete the FREE PLAR (Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition) process to assist you with catching up your remaining grade 9 & 10 credits.  If you need support to understand the PLAR testing materials, contact the King William Learning Centre (905-526-9337) to join the Academic Upgrading or FASTtrack programs.  Once you are done the PLAR process you can get started on other CCE Credit programs or look into the possibility of attending Turning Point (you’ll need at least 20 credits to participate).

What programs are available to you?

Once you have been out of school for at least a year you’ll be eligible for PLAR credits (Mature PLAR), you can get started with this process right away by participating in a Credit Assessment at the Assessment Centre (905-521-2554) where you can learn about the process and receive support about how to get back into school.  If you are granted credits through Mature PLAR to get your credit count over 20 you can attend the Turning Point Program (through HWDSB) at Mohawk College.  Your other options include: Adult Day School (at Hill Park or King William Learning Centres), D2L Hybrid Night School, Independent StudyNight School or Summer School.

Complete the Mature PLAR Package.  If you are granted credits through Mature PLAR to get your credit count over 20 you can attend the Turning Point Program (HWDSB) at Mohawk College.  Your other options include: Adult Day School (at Hill Park or King William Learning Centres), D2L Hybrid Night School Independent StudyNight School or Summer School.

I have been out of school for less than one year

What programs are available to you?

Once you have been out of school for at least a year you’ll be eligible to receive Mature PLAR credits – we recommend you participate in a Credit Assessment at the Assessment Centre (905-521-2554) right away so you can receive support and guidance about getting back into school and learn about the Mature PLAR Process.  To complete your remaining credits you can participate in: Turning Point Program (through HWDSB) at Mohawk College, Adult Day School (at Hill Park or King William Learning Centres), D2L Hybrid Night School Work for CreditIndependent Study, Night School or Summer School.

I have been out of school for more than one year

You’ve shared with us that  you are between 18-20 years old, have 20-26 Secondary School credits and have been out of school for more than a year.
