HWDSB Seeks Input on Elementary Program Strategy
Hamilton‐Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) invites the public to provide input as the Elementary Program Strategy rethinks the way we offer programs and build or renew facilities.
“We continue to build math and literacy as foundational skills across all subject areas, but our teachers also help students develop in-demand skills like problem solving,” said Executive Superintendent Peter Joshua.
“The Elementary Program Strategy is an overview of our programs and/or supporting strategies that inform our daily work in our schools.”
The Board of Trustees made four recommendations for how HWDSB staff implement the Elementary Program Strategy. We are seeking your feedback on those recommendations.
- Recommendation #1: Arts (Instrumental Music)
- Recommendation #2: HWDSB Specialized Learning Programs
- Recommendation #3: Interventions/Special Education
- Recommendation #4: Facilities
Feedback can be provided online.
Public consultation is an important piece of HWDSB’s commitment to accountability. The Board of Trustees relies on feedback from parents/guardians/caregivers, staff, students and the broader community so they can make well-informed decisions that result in positive outcomes for students.
The survey is voluntary, anonymous and responses will only be reported back in general format. While we encourage you to respond to the online survey, comments may also be sent by Canada Post to:
