HWDSB Seeks Feedback on its 2018-2019 Budget Priorities

Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board is looking to hear from the community about how it should align its budget priorities for next year.

“We’re inviting student, staff, parent and community input as we shape the priorities in next year’s budget,” said HWDSB Board Chair Todd White. “This is an opportunity to further our goal of all students learning and growing to their full potential. We cannot, however, achieve this goal without the diverse participation of our school communities.”
The 2018/2019 Preliminary Budget priorities focus on:

  • 21st Century Learning
  • Improving Literacy
  • Improving Mathematics
  • School Revitalization
  • Special Education
  • Student Supports

Individuals have a chance to weigh in on the budget priorities through an online survey. The survey is open until March 1, 2018 at 4 p.m. The results will help trustees focus HWDSB’s budget for the 2018/2019 school year.

Written submissions can also be mailed to E-BEST, P.O. Box 2558 Hamilton, ON L8N 3L1.

Through the budget development process, the Board Priorities are expected to finalized in March. The budget will then be developed and reviewed from March to May, with the final budget approval expected in June.
