HWDSB and OSSTF reach tentative agreement
Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board and the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation District 21 Teachers’ Unit and the Occasional Teachers’ Unit reached a tentative local agreement on the night of Nov. 16 after extensive bargaining.
“It’s great news for our students that we have reached a local agreement with our secondary teachers,” Board Chair Todd White said.
“We thank our secondary teachers for a productive and fruitful conversation. This demonstrates our shifting culture and commitment to positive relationships with all of our partners.”
“After a very long bargaining process, we are pleased to have reached a settlement with the HWDSB,” said Chantal Mancini, President of OSSTF District 21 Teachers’ Unit. “We believe we have achieved an agreement that is positive for teachers and students, and appreciate the Board’s willingness to address our local issues.”
The tentative agreement still requires ratification by both parties.
