Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board and the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 4153, Custodial, Maintenance and Cooks reached a tentative local agreement. This is the second local agreement for HWDSB.

“This is great news for our HWDSB community,” Board Chair Todd White said.

“We’re committed to shifting our Board’s culture and these local agreements really speak to the positive relationships we’ve developed. We thank CUPE for engaging in these discussions and for reaching an agreement so quickly after negotiations concluded at the central table.”

CUPE local 4153 President John Tompa said, “We are proud to announce we have reached a tentative agreement with HWDSB that we believe respects the members of CUPE, the Board and the public.”

The tentative agreement still requires ratification by both parties.
