Stream of Dreams!

The students
of Bennetto are going to be participating in a program called Stream of Dreams.
The Bay Area Restoration Council is a non-profit registered Canadian Charity
that will deliver the Stream of Dreams environmental education program.
Bennetto Students will beautify our community with their artwork. To do this,
each student will be given a wooden fish (made by various high school students)
that they will paint. While students are painting their fish, they will learn
about rivers, streams and their own watershed. In the end Stream of Dreams hopes
to help improve water quality in streams, rivers and oceans by changing people's
behaviour towards water. This highly interactive imaginative project for all
students will give them hope and show them the power of a dream. It unites communities
and beautifies neighborhoods while helping conserve freshwater resources, protect
and restore fish habitats.
Once all students at Bennetto have completed their fish designs, each fish will
be secured outside to the fence on John Street. A Dedication Ceremony will take
place on Wednesday May 21st, 2008 and everyone is invited to attend. In order
to complete the program prior to the Dedication Ceremony there are many jobs,
which still need to be completed. Bennetto's staff is hoping for adult and high
school student volunteers to help pre-paint the wooden fish, supervise students
while painting and learning, as well as securing the fish to the fence. If you
are interested in volunteering your time for any of these tasks, please fill
out the attached sheet and return it to the school as soon as possible.
The attached photo below is of another schools completed fence. Our fence will be AMAZING when it's done.
