Guido de Bres captures girls slo-pitch title

HAMILTON (June 6, 2018) – The championship game took two days to play, but Guido de Bres came out on top to best Dundas Valley 12-10 to claim the 2017-18 girls slo-pitch title.

Guido de Bres cruised through pool play posting a perfect 5-0 record and then muscled their way to the championship game with an 18-0 win over Waterdown in the quarterfinals followed by a 13-5 win over Sir Allan MacNab.

For their part, Dundas Valley finished with a 4-1 pool play record and then dumped Nora Frances Henderson 19-4 in the quarterfinal. They qualified for the final with a 19-9 win over Ancaster.

The final game was delayed in the 4th inning on June 1st after a rainstorm made the diamond unplayable. The final innings were played on June 6th.

It was the second time Guido de Bres had qualified for the final and marked the first time the school would claim the title since the event started in 1992-93.
