Boys waterpolo playoffs kickoff Friday

HAMILTON (January 8th, 2015) The 2014-15 boys waterpolo playoffs commence on Friday, January 9th after regular season play concluded last evening.

Westdale SS has captured the No. 1 seed in the senior boys playoffs securing a perfect 8-0 regular season record.  Ancaster HS holds down the second seed with just a single blemish in a 7-1 campaign.  Other top seeds included Waterdown District HS at No. 3 and Delta SS at No. 4.

Senior quarter-final games get underway on Friday (Jan 9) at 2:00pm at Jimmy Thompson Memorial Pool with No. 4 Delta hosting No. 5 Dundas Valley SS; at 3:00pm Waterdown will take on No. 6 Orchard Park SS.  Hillpark Recreation Centre will also host two quarterfinal games Friday – for a full schedule of games click here 

In junior boys waterpolo playoff action, No. 1 Westmount SS will host No. 4 Ancaster in a semifinal game next Wednesday (Jan 14) beginning at 2:45pm.  That game will be followed with No. 3 Westdale battling No. 2 Orchard Park at 3:30pm.  Both games take place at Jimmy Thompson Memorial Pool.

The boy’s waterpolo season will conclude on Thursday, January 15th with a quadruple header championship evening at Jimmy Thompson Memorial Pool.

The junior boys will take to the pool first kicking off at 6:15pm in a bronze medal match followed by the junior championship at 7:00pm.  Seniors follow with the bronze medal game going at 7:45pm while the championship takes place at 8:30pm.

Admission to the waterpolo championship is $3 for adults and $2 for students.
