How our schools did at SOSSA and OFSAA…

 

Field hockey – Saltfleet won SOSSA and advanced to OFSAA.  They made it to the semi-finals and lost.  They finished 4th in the tournament.  For more tournament information follow this link: https://www.ofsaa.on.ca/field-hockey.

Cross-country – HWIAC and HWDSB had multiple qualifiers to OFSAA, both as individuals and teams.  You can find a full set of results here: https://www.ofsaa.on.ca/cross-country-running/schedules-results.  The Ancaster midget girls and Dundas Valley midget boys teams performed well as did the senior girls from Westdale and the junior boys from Dundas Valley.  There were also fantastic individual performances from  Ancaster’s Finn Mills and Madison Johnstone and Westdale’s Stephanie Ryall who all finished in the top 25. The Westdale girls finished fourth in the overall girls team scoring.

Girls Basketball

Junior A – Our representative was Delta, the division 2 junior champions.  They won silver medals at SOSSA.

Junior AA – Waterdown won silver medals at the junior AA SOSSA tournament

Senior A – Guido de Bres won SOSSA and won their first two games at A OFSAA in Cornwall and lost in the quarter-finals to the eventual A OFSAA champion .  You can view the results here: https://www.ofsaa.on.ca/girls-basketball

Senior AAA – Saltfleet advanced to SOSSA but did not move on.

Senior AAAA – Ancaster won the HWIAC championship and moved on to the OFSAA AAAA tournament in Guelph.  They lost their first two games and moved on to the consolation bracket which they won.  You can check those results here: https://www.ofsaa.on.ca/sites/default/files/championship/user31/ofsaa_2014_draw_end_of_round_2_sheet1.pdf

Boys Volleyball

Senior A – HDCH advanced to SOSSA but did not moved on.

Senior AA – Sir Allan MacNab advanced to SOSSA but did not move on

Senior AAA – Ancaster won the HWIAC championship and SOSSA and advanced to AAA OFSAA in Kingston.  They finished pool play with 4 points and advance to the consolation bracket.  The lost in the consolation final.  You can see all the results here: https://www.ofsaa.on.ca/boys-aaa-volleyball/schedules-results

Senior AAAA – Westmount advanced to AAAA OFSAA in Caledon/Brampton.  They have lost all three matches and will not advance.

Golf

Boys – Brad Hildebrandt came in tied for 18th at +9 and the team from Dundas Valley came 16th overall

Girls – Alexandra Gallagher tied for 47th in the girls tournament.

Football

​The Sir Allan MacNab Lions won the HWIAC championship and advanced to SOSSA.  The were defeated 37-12 in the SOSSA championship but still advanced to the  OFSAA Football festival as the SOSSA #2 entry.  They lost to Chaminade College from the TDCAA in the first bowl game at McMaster’s Ron Joyce Stadium.  The score was 35 – 7.  You can follow the results and see the other participants in Bowl games here: https://www.ofsaa.on.ca/boys-football-festival
