HWDSB is committed to creating innovative learning environments that support student achievement. Accommodation reviews are necessary to address the facility and redevelopment requirements for those schools designated as prohibitive to repair. Reviews are important to make sure we are efficiently using available space to accommodate students as long-term demand for enrolment changes.

Schools will be looked at in groups in order to develop recommendations to trustees that make the best use of location, space and programming. Those committees are broken down into the following areas:

Dalewood Area: G.R. Allan, Dalewood, Prince Phillip

King George Area: King George, Memorial (City), Prince of Wales

Hill Park Cluster: Cardinal Heights, Eastmount Park, Franklin Road, G.L. Armstrong, Linden Park, Pauline Johnson, Queensdale, Ridgemount

Mount Hope/Bellmoore Area: Bellmoore, Bell-Stone, Mount Hope, new Binbrook schools

Sir Winston Churchill Cluster: Hillcrest, Parkdale, Rosedale, Roxborough Park, W.H. Ballard, Woodward, Viscount Montgomery

Public consultation is at the heart of the accommodation review process. A minimum of four public meetings are to be held by each of the accommodation review committees, as well as a number of additional working meetings. The goal is to engage a wide range of school and community groups to participate in the consultation in order to make the recommendations to trustees. Committee members include principals, teachers, parents, students and community members.

Please check each ARC for a complete list of meeting dates.
